12.04.2010 Grace in Action Toy and Food Ride
The bikes started arriving at the Silverdale Baptist Church on Bonny Oaks shortly after 10:00am. Despite the cold and the fact that the forecast was calling for showers, roughly twenty bikes showed up. At 10:30am, kick stands were up, and we were rolling toward the Town & Country Inn in downtown Chattanooga, home of the Grace in Action Ministries. Almost immediately after pulling out on I-75, the rain fell and continued to fall all the way into town. At the Town & Country Inn, we met Pastor Penny Peak, who accepted our gifts of toys, food and donations with extreme gratitude. As we gathered in the lobby, she gave us a brief description of their ministry and by the time she was through, there were very few dry eyes in the room.
